Simple Plan Give Fans “Saturday”

It looks like Simple Plan’s new song came a little bit earlier than expected.

Last week, the band revealed that their new song would make its debut during guitarist Sébastien Lefebvre’s radio show on Idobi Radio this Wednesday (June 24), but we have the feeling the Canadian dudes couldn’t hold onto the song until then.

Instead, they decided to release the new track which is titled “Saturday,” today, making their longtime fans jump for joy. The song sounds like they’ve taken a step back into their poppy roots which we guess is good news. And as a side note, no it’s not a cover of Fall Out Boy’s “Saturday.”

Listen to “Saturday” below.

“Saturday” is set to be featured on the band’s upcoming new record which still does not have an official name, so for all purposes it’s being referred to “SPAlbum5” since even the guys have been referring to the album as that.

For those digging the new song. it’s currently available for purchase on iTunes.

Along with not having a title, the record also does not have a release date, though drummer Chuck Comeau did reveal that they are shooting for a “late Summer/early Fall” release time frame.
