What’s Eating Gilbert to Release Debut Album This Summer

How do you follow-up two successful tours and a successful new album? By giving your side project a little bit of that love.

New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert revealed earlier in the day that his side project, What’s Eating Gilbert had not only signed to Hopeless Records, but that they will be releasing their official debut record this Summer.

The debut will be titled That New Sound You’re Looking For and is set to be released on July 10. Pre-orders and the lead single for the record will be available June 2.

“I’m excited to announce that it is finally time for me to release the first full-length What’s Eating Gilbert Album, That New Sound You’re Looking For, on July 10! I say finally because I actually recorded these 12 songs in January of 2014! Why have I waited so long to release it? Well, as most of you know, I play guitar in New Found Glory who have had an action packed last year and a half. Once Hopeless Records told me they wanted to release this album we both decided it was best to release it at a time when I could actually go out and play it for you!”

And he will definitely be able to do now that New Found Glory’s busy schedule has slowed down.

But things don’t end there. Gilbert and the rest of WEG will be hitting the road alongside Bayside’s Anthony Raneri as he embarks on a solo Summer tour.
