Bad news has surfaced for fans of Of Mice & Men who happen to live across the pond. The band have announced that they will be cancelling several shows due to frontman Austin Carlile’s health.
The band have been on a major tour since 2014 began, and it looks like the heavy touring might have caught up with Carlile. Early this morning, OM&M posted an update on all their social media accounts explaining that they have been forced to cancel several of their upcoming European tour dates.
The reason behind the cancellation all stems from Carlile and his “unforseen health issues.”
The cancellation means that their appearances at some European festivals including Pukkelpop and Summer Breeze have been scraped. One festival that will not be OM&M-less; Reading and Leeds.
The festival which is slated to take place next weekend (August 22-24) , will not be missing the California band from their line-up.
Read the band’s statement below and wish Carlile a speeding recovery.
Due to Austin having unforeseen health issues we’re unfortunately not going to be able to play the first few festivals of our upcoming tour in Europe while he rests up. This will include our scheduled appearances at Summer Breeze today, Pukkelpop on Friday and Elb-Riot and X-Rockest this weekend. We apologise to our fans in Belgium and Germany who were attending these shows but we will be back soon to make up for this. We are going to be resuming our tour on August 19th in Berlin and all other upcoming shows including Reading and Leeds Festivals are unaffected.
The band’s latest record, Restoring Force was released back in January and reached the number 4 spot on the Billboard 200.
