Watch Weezer Perform “Island in the Sun” with a Twist

How do you celebrate performing at one of the Summer’s biggest festivals? You make up your own anthem for the festival and then somehow manage to fuse both of the songs together and that’s exactly what Weezer did this past weekend.

The band was one of the bands to perform at this year’s Firefly Festival in Dover, DE and paid tribute to that by creating their own anthem for the weekend-long festival. Then, instead of launching straight into arguably their biggest hits, “Island in the Sun,” they decided to kick off the song by playing the newly (self) created anthem.

Check out footage taken from the show this past weekend.

The band will reportedly be releasing a new album either at the end of this year or beginning of 2015. All we have at this point is the name of the new album which is Everything Will Be Alright in the End.
