Morrissey’s Current Tour Hits Road Blocks

Just when we thought that Morrissey’s current tour was going to go off without a hitch, it looks like the former Smiths’ trek is becoming problematic once again.

Last time the Moz went on tour, everything that could go wrong, did from getting food poisoning to have to rush home to be with his ailing mother. When the current tour had been announced, you could hear the sound of people making bets on how long it would be before the tour would fall once again.

Yesterday, he flat out cancelled his stop in Atlanta (the fourth times in an 18 month span) and today, he has revealed plans to cancel tomorrow’s (June 5) stop in Atlantic City due to health problems, once again.

But all hope is not lost for those ticketholders for Atlantic City’s Reveal Ovation Hall, the venue announced that the show will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 22, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored. As for Atlanta, they are not so lucky; a rescheduled date has not been given yet.

According to the singer’s Facebook page, the tour is expected to “resume as originally scheduled, without question, at the Boston Opera House on Saturday, June 7.”

And that’s not where the bad news end. It appears that Kristeen Young may no longer be apart of the tour. After someone posted online how they were excited to see her open for Morrissey, she replied with “don’t get too excited” after she denied that she had gotten the virus that knocked Morrissey and the whole crew out.

Young then posted on Facebook, “We won’t be continuing as opening band for the Morrissey tour. Thanks to all who showed up early and gave us such life-sustaining enthusiasm. Thanks to Morrissey for his years of support and generosity. There are lots of plans and lots of possibilities and we can’t wait ti tear into them.”
Back in 2007, Young had been booted off of Morrissey’s tour, but has continued her role as supporting acts for the iconic singer. No explanation besides her statement has been released about the departure.

As of now, a handful of Morrissey tour dates remain, well before the release of his tenth studio album, World Peace is None of Your Business set to be released on July 15 through Harvest Records.
