When it was announced that Michael Bay would be taking on one of the most iconic movies for a 90s kid, skepticism began over whether or not he would do justice to the fan-favorite group of crime fighting turtles, or if he would make it just another excuse to blow things up.
The first official trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered today, and the consensus was pretty much the same: somewhat excitement. Like almost all superhero films, shots of a city being terrorized by villains and a voice over giving the audience the background story about how a superhero isn’t born, they are made.
Cut to the audience getting one of the most important shots in the entire trailer; the first glimpse at the CGI ninja turtles. We also get to see several shots of Megan Fox playing reporter April O’Neil and find out that her father was somehow involved in this super-secret scientific study.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle will be released on August 8. The film is produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
