Sad news for Selenators living down under and in Asia; Selena Gomez’s people have confirmed that the pop star has cancelled her recently announced Star Dance Tour.
While most superstars would cote some stupid excuse like a stomach virus or some Earth-shattering sickness, the former Disney star has revealed that real reason for the cancellation is because she needs some “me” time.
The actress/singer was scheduled to have a total of 13 tour stops which included dates in Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. Her five-city tour of Australia which would have been her first time travelling there on a tour was scheduled to begin on February 1st at Perth Arena in Perth, WA and wrap up on February 8th at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
“My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” commented Gomez in a statement issued by promoter Live Nation. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”
The news of Gomez’s cancellation comes two weeks after she had an almost meltdown during the annual KIIS-FM Jingle Ball concert. During the show, the singer dropped the F-bomb after some technical difficulties plagued her, and other artists as well.
Hopefully, the time off does her some good and she comes back refreshed and ready to hit the touring circuit again.
