Earlier today, Property of Zack had reported that My Chemical Romance might be releasing a new album in January. The rumor of the band putting out an album all began when Hits Daily Double listed the band the band in the upcoming releases section of the site; the site took down the information, but a snap-shot of it can be seen below.
The release date was January 24, 2014 through their longtime record label, Warner Brothers, while the name of the album was still TBD. Originally, it was confirmed that no, the band that had disbanded earlier this year, had not come back together to put out a new album, much to the chagrin of their MCRmy, including some people here.
Instead of it being a new album, frontman Gerard Way confirmed on Twitter that the album listed on the site will be the band’s greatest hits that Warner Brothers had put together.
Sadly, it might just be collection of singles and B-sides that some fans might have had for quite sometime. Some are starting to wonder if some unheard B-sides might make it onto the greatest hits album including that album that was supposed to come out before the split which had been temporarily titled, MCR5 as well as songs from Conventional Weapons which they had released some from last year.
Only time will tell if that hope will come true, but at least we know that Way will have some input into the artwork of the album, so things might be good anyways.
