Earlier this year, Taking Back Sunday announced to fans that they were currently working on a new album on Twitter.
Yesterday, the band posted a live video which featured one of their new songs titled, “Flicker Fade.” Apparently, after seeing so many cellphone videos of the sang, the band decided to just release an unofficial-official video of the song.
“We’re glad people are so enthusiastic and want to share the music from their point of view and we thought it would also be nice to see it and hear it from this perspective,” bassist Shaun Cooper said in response to the “leaked” song.
The video was recorded during their show at the reopened Starland Ballroom In New Jersey. The concert venue had previously been closed due to Hurricane Sandy’s destruction of the venue. The band, who hail from Amityville, N.Y., were granted the honor of playing the venue during its first week of reopening.
“Flicker Fade” is the first song to be “leaked” from their upcoming sixth album which they were finishing up in the studio. The album, which still doesn’t have a name, is due out sometime in the Spring of 2014 through Hopeless Records.
