Lana Del Rey tracks have been leaked throughout the year and most were starting to think that this might be some sort of publicity stunt courtesy of the singer or her camp. Now, Del Rey is claiming that the leaks had not been coming from her, but rather from hackers who had gotten a hold of her hard drive which featured the songs. The rest is like we say, history.
In an interview with Radio.com, she stated that most of the singer were older, hence the reason why they didn’t exactly sound up to par with her recent material, while some others, including the recently released “Black Beauty,” were newer and to be featured on her upcoming LP. As we can assume, it might not be featured after all.
“To be honest, what really happened was, three years ago somebody remotely accessed my hard drive, so even songs I’ve never emailed to myself [were accessed],” she explained. “There are hundreds of them.”
“I do feel discouraged, yeah. I don’t really know what to put on the record. But I guess I could just put them on and see what happens. Each time I write… I’ll never write a song if I don’t think it’s going to be perfect for the record.”
Just yesterday, another song made its way onto the internet, this one was titled, “Love on the Side” which can be heard below.
