In news that might not be all that shocking, it seems that Fueled by Ramen has dropped VersaEmerge from their artist roster. While no official word has been given as to why the duo have been dropped from the record label, many can attribute that it was due to the fact that they have continually been delaying the released of their sophomore album, Another Atmosphere.
The band were originally scheduled to head out on the Vans Warped Tour this year, but decided that it would be in the best interest of the label and them, to just bow out to concentrate on working on the new album. The album, though has apparently been in production for well over a year. In May, the band released a statement about why they were dropping off the yearly festival tour, but reassuring their fans that they were not breaking up and that they were working on new material, “for real this time.”
”We’re very sorry to say that we are canceling our appearance on this summer’s Van’s Warped Tour. This was not an easy decision and we sincerely apologize to the Vans Warped Tour and to anyone who planned to see us this summer. We are still going through some important changes that would be unjustifiable and inexcusable to rush.
Do not fear! We are not splitting up. We’ve been working hard towards an exciting and much needed reorganization. It has taken quite a long time to solidify what direction we want to go in and but have we finally figured that out. We’re challenging ourselves daily with self-producing A LOT of new material. So look forward to some new songs… Very very soon. (FOR REAL THIS TIME)
We know that we haven’t made any major announcements in these past few months, and we cannot thank you enough for hanging in there with us throughout this vast period of silence.
We hear you guys!
We will be releasing some more information in the weeks to come concerning future plans and new music…”
As of right now, neither the record label or the band themselves have released a statement on the matter, but it looks like Fueled by Ramen are taking the steps to put them in the alumni category.
