Sum 41 Loses Drummer

Just last month, Sum 41 had to cancel their current tour after frontman, Deryck Whibley, started struggling with his reoccurring back issues. The initial statement was given by their fellow tourmates, Billy Talent about why this suddenly happened.

Now, the band are mourning another lose in the form of their drummer. After being with the band for 17 years, Stevo Jocz has decided to leave the band. He released the following statement earlier this evening concerning his abrupt departure:

“I’m sorry to announce that I’ve decided to leave Sum 41.

Touring with the band has been an amazing experience that has taken us far beyond our old practice space in my parent’s basement to countless countries around the world. I’ve had the opportunity to see and experience so much and for that I am truly grateful.

I just want to thank all of our fans for making the last 17 years possible. I had a blast.

Thanks again,

Stevo.”

Considering that the band is not on tour now nor have any immediate plans for a new album, it doesn’t look like they will be searching for a replacement drummer anytime soon. The remaining band member have yet to comment on the departure.
