In a twist that still has fans reeling, My Chemical Romance have called it quits in what could be described as the shortest blog post, ever. The band posted the following message on their official website which left much of their fan base shocked, confused or a mixture of the two.
The message on the website read:
“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
My Chemical Romance”
A short while after the news had reached headlines frontman, Gerard Way, posted the following on his Twitter account.
While guitarist, Frank Iero, posted the following.
Over the course of their twelve years, the band have released four studio album including 2004’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge which launched then onto the charts. So far, no other word has been given about this sudden and rushed disbandment.
