No Doubt Postpone Tour for New Music

No Doubt

No Doubt took a hell of a break for a while as Gwen Stefani went on to become one of pop music’s best female artist/fashion designer and the rest of the band went to do their own side projects. When it was announced that the band would be making new music, fans of the ska band rejoiced when Push and Shove was released last year.

Fast forward to today, when the band was supposed to be heading out on a tour, but decided that it was better to put it on the back burner and head into the studio to create new music while the creative juices were still flowing. In a statement they released o Facebook, they explained how it took three years for them to complete Push and Shove and the fact that the music was coming to them so quickly for a new album was a great thing, hence the postponing of the tour.

You can read the band’s full statement to fans below:

“Greetings from the studio in Los Angeles…Yes, that’s right, the studio! While we were traveling the world last year promoting Push and Shove, Gwen mentioned she was inspired to write new music. In December, around the time of our hometown shows, we discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the studio together.

We did so in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting,” the group explains before adding, “We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don’t want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible – both recorded and live on tour.”

While the temporary postponing of a tour may make fans a little upset, the band has kept everyone in the loop with their continuous updates on Facebook and Twitter from the studio which you can see here. So hang tight everyone, there will be a new No Doubt album/tour in the near future.
