Ever since the Skate and Surf Festival announced their revival late last year, there had been lots of speculation as to who would be headlining the two day festival. After an internet-based ‘Where’s Waldo?’ meets Scavenger Hunt, most of the list of the performers was released. The only question was who would be headlining the festival.
Rumors had started to circulate recently that Fall Out Boy would be one of those headliners and there was even some arrows pointing to it being true. First off, this year would mark the 10th year anniversary of them performing at the festival. Then there was the cryptic tweet from FOB drummer, Joe Trohman: “The rumors are still untrue, unreal & totally outta this world! *shreds gnar, does surf’s up hand signal*. Seriously, it’s not going down,” pointing fans in the direction of the festival with the ‘shreds gnar, does surf’s up hand signal.’
After playing it cool for a week, Skate and Surf finally revealed on Monday that it was all true Fall Out Boy would be headlining the festival on the first day, May 18. While Fall Out Boy are the most anticipated band to be playing, they aren’t the only ones on the line-up.
